FAQ

8-Ball Pool follows standard pool rules:

  1. Players take turns shooting the cue ball to hit their assigned balls into the pockets.
  2. One player aims for solid balls (1-7), while the other aims for striped balls (9-15).
  3. Ball assignments are determined when a player first legally pockets a ball after the break.
  4. To win, pocket all your assigned balls and then legally pocket the 8-ball (black).
  5. Pocketing the 8-ball before all your assigned balls results in a loss.
  6. Pocketing the 8-ball on the break or pocketing the cue ball when shooting at the 8-ball also results in a loss.

What is a scratch in 8-Ball?
A scratch happens when the cue ball is pocketed. When this happens, your opponent gets "ball in hand," meaning they can place the cue ball anywhere on the table for their next shot.
How do I apply spin to the cue ball?
Right-click or press spacebar to bring up the spin controls, then use the arrow keys or click on different parts of the cue ball to apply top spin, back spin, or side spin. This helps control where the cue ball goes after hitting your target.
What happens if I pocket the 8-ball too early?
If you pocket the 8-ball before clearing all your assigned balls (either solids or stripes), you automatically lose the game. The 8-ball should only be pocketed after you've cleared all your other balls.
How can I improve my 8-Ball skills?
Practice using different power levels and applying spin. Pay attention to angles and plan your shots to leave the cue ball in a good position for your next shot. Try to think a few moves ahead, like in chess. Also, watch your opponent's play style to learn new techniques.
