FAQ
Slice It is a puzzle game that challenges your ability to divide shapes into equal parts:
- Each level presents you with a shape and tells you how many equal pieces it needs to be cut into
- Draw lines by clicking and dragging your mouse across the shape to slice it
- Aim to create pieces of equal or nearly equal size (the percentage of equality is shown)
- Complete each level by achieving the required equality percentage
- Progress through increasingly complex shapes and higher division requirements
The game is easy to learn but becomes progressively more challenging as shapes get more complex and require more precise divisions!
The controls in Slice It are straightforward and intuitive:
- Mouse Click + Drag: Draw a slicing line
- Release Mouse Button: Complete the slice
- Undo Button: Remove the last slice you made (if available)
- Reset Button: Start the level over
- Menu Button: Access game options
You can also click the fullscreen button in the top right corner of our page to enjoy the game in fullscreen mode for better precision with your slices.
How is the equality percentage calculated?
The equality percentage is determined by comparing the area of all pieces after slicing. The more equal the pieces are in size, the higher your percentage. A perfect score of 100% means all pieces have exactly the same area.
What happens if I don't achieve the required percentage?
If your slices don't create pieces with the required equality percentage, you'll need to try again. You can either use the undo button to remove your last slice or reset the level completely to start over.
Are there any special techniques for slicing difficult shapes?
For complex shapes, try to identify lines of symmetry first. For odd-numbered divisions, sometimes it helps to first divide the shape into two equal halves, then further divide one half. Also, take your time to plan all your cuts before making the first one.
Do I have a limited number of slices per level?
Yes, each level specifies how many pieces you need to create, which determines how many slices you're allowed. For example, to create 4 pieces, you'll need exactly 3 slices. Using more or fewer slices than required will result in failure.
